Symposium Hosts
St George Hospital - Cancer Centre
The Cancer Care Centre at St George Hospital was one of the first integrated comprehensive Cancer Care Centres built in Australia when it first opened in 1993. The Cancer Care Centre forms part of the St George Hospital Campus and it houses, under the one roof, Departments of Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care and Clinical Haematology. Apart from providing excellence in medical care, the Centre has always had an holistic approach to patient management. The Cancer Care Centre at St George Hospital is one of the busiest Cancer Centres in Australia, and it has been used as a blueprint for future Cancer Centres.
Calvary Health Care Sydney
The palliative care service of Calvary Health Care Sydney is the largest Palliative care service in NSW. Providing care for the people within the central hospital network of the SESIAHS (South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Area health Service), Calvary is renowned for excellence in the provision of holistic care to patients and their families who are living with a life limiting illness. The service is based on an interdisciplinary model for comprehensive physical, psychosocial and spiritual care. Services include a bereavement service, community outreach service and ongoing teaching, education and research .
