  Welcome to Wollongong
Wollongong the heart of the Illawarra region and New South Wales third largest city and Australia's most liveable regional city is located approximately one hours drive south of Sydney on the beautiful NSW South Coast.

Wollongong’s vibrant cultural life, plentiful shopping, restaurants, cafes, fresh foods and friendly people make the Wollongong Experience a memorable one indeed. Wollongong, a truly cosmopolitan city has much to offer and is just a short drive away from white sandy beaches and picturesque rural landscapes all set against the backdrop of the imposing Illawarra Escarpment mountain range.

From Sydney
About one hour drive from Sydney's southern suburbs via the Princes Highway (F6 Freeway).

From the Southern Highlands
About 45 minutes drive time via either Mount Ousley Road/Picton Road and the Hume Highway (F5 Freeway) or Macquarie Pass/Illawarra Highway.

From Canberra
About 2.5 hours drive time along the Hume Highway to the Picton interchange and the Picton Road/Mt Ousley Road, or to Moss Vale and the Illawarra Highway.

Climate
Wollongong has a mild, sunny coastal climate with winter temperatures averaging 17 degrees and a summer average of 27 degrees tempered with sea breezes. Most rainfall occurs between February and June. Wollongong’s average maximum temperature for September is 20 degrees.
