  The National Conference Organising Committee, representing The Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), The Australian Institute of Welfare & Community Workers (AIWCW), and The Australian Association of Social Work & Welfare Educators (AASWWE) invites you to participate in the 2008 Strength in Unity Conference.

  Child Protection - Professor Dorothy Scott
Foundation Chair of Child Protection, and director of the Australian Centre for Child Protection at the University of SA, presents the most recent research into child care and protection followed by an interactive workshop.

Workforce Planning - Lynne Berry
OBE, Chief Executive of WRVS, UK academic and leading figure in workforce planning, bringing an international perspective to current workplace issues within the welfare sector.

Disability - Dr Romel Mackelprang
Director of the Centre for Disability Studies and Universal Access at Eastern Washington University, presents a keynote perspective the disability rights movement and current developments in the field.

Workforce Planning - Christine King
Chairperson of the National Coalition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Workers Association and Indigenous co-chairperson of the Stolen Generation's Alliance speaks on the Aboriginal kinship system; informing social work theory and practice in Australia.

Current Social Issues - Richard Eckersley
Founding Director of Australia 21 visiting fellow at the ANU, explores the relationships between economic growth, quality of life and sustainability.

Professional Practice - Dr Karen Healy
