Acting Senior Sergeant Peter Bellion   Acting Senior Sergeant Peter Bellion
Peter is an Acting Senior Sergeant of Police currently working with Victoria Police, Road Safety Task Force. He has been the Collision Reconstruction Team Leader with Victoria Police Major Collision Investigation Unit from 1996 to 2009. Peter has a Degree in Civil Engineering and is qualified to Advanced Accident Reconstruction Level via Texas A&M University. Peter has been involved in the investigation and reconstruction of in excess of 1000 fatal motor vehicle collisions and has given expert evidence to Supreme Court level in Victoria as well as in the District Court of South Australia and Singapore.

Peter conducts training for the Society of Automotive Engineers of Australasia in Technical Accident Investigation and Reconstruction. Peter initiated the Wipe Off 5 concept and appeared in the Transport Accident Commissions, Wipe Off 5 Commercial ‘Reconstruction’ (Car versus pedestrian crash). Peter actively promoted the implementation of road safety initiatives such as vehicle stability control to prevent loss of control crashes and wire rope safety fences to prevent freeway crossover crashes. Peter received the Australian Police Medal in January 2009 for Distinguished Police Service in relation to his efforts in Road Trauma Investigation and Road Trauma Reduction.
 
Professor Rob Moodie   Professor Rob Moodie
Rob Moodie is Professor of Global Health at the Nossal Institute for Global Health at the University of Melbourne. Between 1998 and 2007 he was the CEO of VicHealth. He is currently the Chair of the National Preventative Health Task Force.

Since 1979 he has worked for Save the Children Fund, Medicins Sans Frontieres, Congress, the Aboriginal Health Service in Alice Springs, the Burnet Institute and for the World Health Organization, and the joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).

Rob chairs the Technical Panel to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s HIV prevention program in India. He also chairs the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club.

He is married to Anne, a physiotherapist and they have two children Nick 23 and Penny 21. He writes regularly in the media and is co-editor/author of four books, including Hands on Health Promotion. His most recent book is Recipes for a Great Life written with Gabriel Gate.

Inspector Greg Payne Manager Melton Police Service Area Westgate Division Region 2 (West)

Greg has been a member of Victoria Police for 32 years. He has been an operational police officer throughout his career including 22 years at a variety of ranks as a Detective. He was promoted to the rank of Inspector in August 2003 and was appointed to manage the Central Goldfields Police Service Area in Central Victoria. On the 28th of February 2003 he was appointed to his current position as Manager of the Melton Police Service Area.
 
Chris Harrison   Chris Harrison
Chris manages the education programmes for Road Trauma Support Services Victoria (RTSSV). She has an extensive background of more than 20 years in social work and has worked in the fields of drug and alcohol, youth and in education and training. Chris has worked at local, regional and state levels to develop and implement educational programmes and to lobby for different groups at State and Federal level.

Chris is originally from regional Victoria and committed to ensuring access to metropolitan based programmes rolled out state-wide.

She believes communities need to work together and pool resources to ensure effective service delivery and aims to see this happen in the area of road trauma education.

Whilst working at RTSSV Chris has met many wonderful people who, through traumatic events in their lives, have committed to make a difference by sharing their personal stories. They are able to do this by being involved in delivering RTSSV education programmes.

RTSSV is a very inspirational and compassionate area to be working in and works together with the many organisations, volunteers and communities who together bring about change and encourage responsible driving on our roads.
 
John Downes   John Downes
John Downes is Manager of Support Services at Road Trauma Support Services Victoria (RTSSV). John is a social worker by training. Through his career he has worked in a variety of roles including: Centrelink (income support), Private Practice (marriage and personal counselling), Dept Foreign Affairs (international student support), ITIM (Employee Assistance Programs), and Melbourne Health (Amputee and Neuro Rehabilitation, Aged Care, and Community and Residential Programs). John's role at RTSSV involves counselling service delivery, management of the counselling team and volunteer management.

The RTSSV counselling & support services model uses qualified professionals working in collaboration with trained volunteers who have been personally impacted by road trauma. RTSSV seeks to achieve its mission of reducing the incidence and impact of road trauma through care and support of those traumatised and bereaved, along with education which emphasises the personal impacts of road trauma.
