Welcome to OECC/ACOFT 2008 Conference

On behalf of the International Advisory Committee for the Opto-Electronics and Communications Conference (OECC) and the Australian Conference on Optical Fibre Technology (ACOFT) it is our privilege to invite you to attend the OECC/ACOFT 2008 Conference to be held in Sydney in July 2008. The combined conference will address all aspects of optoelectronics and optical communications, from waveguide and propagation theory, through components and subsystems to systems and networks and will include a special CLEO Focus symposium on Frontiers in Photonics that deals with advanced topics. We have international leaders as invited speakers and workshops on the major current issues in photonics. Attendees will further benefit from the interdisciplinary opportunities offered by the co-location of the conference with the triennial meeting of the ICO. A full social program, focused around the beauty of Sydney and its harbour will also be offered. We look forward to seeing you in Sydney in 2008!
