PRESIDENT’S INVITATION
Dear Colleagues,
The annual congress of our International Society for Rotary Blood Pumps has become the most important and intensive platform to discuss the development and the application of these systems for researchers and clinical applicants. For the last 15 years this event took place in periodical sequence between Europe, Japan and USA. To emphasize the worldwide importance of this field, our Society decided to widen the horizon this year and to accept the invitation of John Woodard and his colleagues to host the congress in Sydney, Australia. This decision underlines especially also the progress, which is made in Australia, both in development and clinical application. We hope that you will take the opportunity to join the meeting of our society, and that you will have also time to see some specialities of the exceptional fifth continent.
