Call for Abstracts
The CMIC12 Organising Committee invites abstract submissions for presentation at the 2012 Conference.
All abstracts will be considered, however, we encourage you to submit abstracts which address the conference themes as listed below:
Themes
- Development approval case studies – Lessons learned from ‘easy’ or ‘complex’ approvals for new or extended operations
- Environment – Rehabilitation. reducing operational impacts, successful community engagement
- Extraction – Innovation, improved resource use, blasting techniques
- Land use planning – Resource protection, buffer zones, alternative land uses
- OH&S – Management systems, success stories, future opportunities
- Operational Innovation – Processing improvements, minimising offsite impacts
- Projects – Innovative use of industry products to deliver key infrastructure
- Technical – Improved specifications leading to improved infrastructure performance, results of R&D that support future specification refinement
- Transport – Productivity improvements
Authors are encouraged to focus on innovation and demonstrated improved productivity. Partnerships between operational suppliers are encouraged.
Abstract Guidelines
All abstracts must follow the official Abstract Guidelines and should adhere to the Abstract Template.
Abstract Submission
To submit an abstract for CMIC12 please ensure you have the following:
- Name and contact details
- Consent from management to submit and present this abstract(s)
- The title of your presentation
- Theme of presentation
- Names of all author/s who will be presenting
- Speakers biography
- Completed abstract as per the guidelines and template above
When you are ready click the Speakers Portal button below.
Once your submission is complete, you will receive a confirmation email with your login Name and Access key. You can use these details to access the Speakers Portal to review and update various parts of your submission and personal information. |

Abstract Review and Notification
Abstracts will be reviewed by the Organising Committee and authors will be notified of their acceptance in May 2012. Due to space restrictions in the Conference program, it may not be possible for all Abstracts to be included in the program. The committee reserves the right to decline abstracts that do not meet the Conference criteria.
Important Points to Note
- Potential presenters should note all costs to attend the Conference must be met from their own resources
- At least one author of an accepted abstract is expected to attend and present their paper at the Conference
- Due to the limited number of places available in the oral program submitting authors may be asked to present their abstract within the poster program.
