Situated by the Yarra River, the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre is located just a short stroll from many of the city's restaurants, hotels and shopping areas making it easily accessed by foot or public transport.
The accessibility of Melbourne is also a key consideration for attending an event at the MECC. Just a short distance from the City is a wealth of sightseeing attractions perfect for day tours and with regular flights to other cities and tourist destinations there are ample opportunities to combine your visit with some of Australia's other famous attractions.
The precinct stretches 1400 metres along Melbourne's Yarra River and encompasses the new cultural centre of Federation Square, fabulous restaurants and boutiques; exciting nightlife and function facilities of the Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex; world class ballet, opera and live theatre at the Victorian Arts Centre and the underwater world of the Melbourne Aquarium.
Parking
Parking is available in a multi-storey carpark at the Convention Centre, entrance off Siddeley Street.
Open 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Early Bird $10.00 Mon – Fri (in by 10.00am - out by 6.00am next day).
First Hour $5.50
Maximum fee $25.00 (all day).
Weekend $10 per 24 hours (between 6am Saturday until 6am Monday)

Trams
There are two tram stops outside the Melbourne Convention Centre and one stop at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
No. 12, 96, 109 travel along Clarendon Street from South Melbourne, Port Melbourne and St Kilda and service the CBD via Collins and Bourke Streets.
No. 70 runs along Flinders Street stopping on the north side of the Melbourne Convention Centre.
Trams run every 6-8 minutes during peak times, 7.00am - 9.00am and 4.00pm - 6.00pm and every 10-12 minutes between 9.00am and 4.00pm.
The City Circle Tram, visit www.victrip.com.au/city_circle/, service also provides a free and convenient way to get around central Melbourne. Tourists, shoppers, office workers and families can use the City Circle Tram to travel to major attractions, shops and city events.
Trains
Southern Cross Station is just a short stroll from the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre. The Dandenong, Frankston, Belgrave, Lilydale and Sandringham lines run every 15 minutes and St Albans, Williamstown, Werribee, Upfield, Epping and Eltham run every 20 minutes.
Taxis
Taxi ranks are located at both the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and the Melbourne Convention Centre as well as all major hotels, Crown Entertainment Complex, Southern Cross and Flinders Street Stations.
