		INVITATION TO ATTEND I am delighted to extend an invitation to you to participate in All the Wild Wonders 2008 CBCA National Conference, to be held at the Melbourne Convention Centre from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th May 2008. All the Wild Wonders 2008 will provide those interested in children’s literature with an opportunity to explore issues formally and informally through presentations, which will encourage intellectual debate and celebrate successes and new directions. The 2008 Conference will feature a number of outstanding local and international speakers. Each day of the three day conference will begin with a Keynote Session. Two of these will be open to the public. Concurrent sessions will further explore the focus issues introduced by the keynote speakers. The Melbourne Convention Centre is situated on the picturesque north side of the Yarra River and is a short walk to many outstanding restaurants, hotels and shopping areas. Victoria’s capital, Melbourne, will provide an exciting and vibrant backdrop for the 2008 Conference. We expect many of our delegates will take the opportunity to become Involved in the satellite program that will showcase many of our city’s cultural venues. Above all, we invite you to enjoy Melbourne’s warm hospitality and hope you will share with us in feeling the excitement All the Wild Wonders generates. Bronwen Bennett All the Wild Wonders 2008 National CBCA President & Conference Convenor Theme This conference sets out to explore the various dimensions of children’s books from the craft of the writing, to the illustrator’s art, to the importance of the publisher’s final production. All the Wild Wonders is the title of a song from a capella group Coco’s Lunch, encapsulating the art and the heart, of books for young people. Audience Anyone who has a passion for children’s books will be challenged and stimulated by this conference – teachers, teacher-librarians, public librarians, writers, illustrators, publishers or parents.
