Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand
The Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ) is a nongovernmental, nonprofit organisation first formed in the late 1960's to bring together people with an interest in clean air and the mechanics of air pollution. Its focus is now expanded to encompass broader environmental management affairs, but with particular reference to air quality and related issues.
The objects of the society are to promote the protection of the environment:
- Through advancement of knowledge and practical experience of environmental and air quality management.
- By providing an organisation which may gather and distribute the experience and knowledge of its members.
- By providing lectures, exhibitions, public meetings and conferences as a forum to expand knowledge of environmental matters, especially air quality, including causes, effects, measurement, legislative aspects and control of pollution.
- By liaison with organisations with similar interests in other countries.
- By printing and publication of any paper, periodical, book or leaflet that the society may think desirable.
- By providing scholarships, bursaries, monetary grants, awards and prizes to encourage the study of relevant subjects or disciplines.
